It was an ……interesting period for everyone.
Things are happening that have never happened in the history of Ireland
The thing I’m most happy about is our school closing. Next came parks and playgrounds, pubs, restaurants and finally shops. All shops except supermarkets and essential shops like chemists and some hardware stores.
Ok, so the reason all this is happening is because of an illness known as the Coronavirus or Covid-19, which was first discovered in China but eventually reached Ireland. This illness only really effects the elderly not so much the younger age groups. Children are the main carriers and they can easily spread it to the old and vulnerable people.
My teacher gave me lots of work to do but I’m getting through it. As well as homework I also have a list of fun activities that I got from my Guide leader. I also help in the garden and around the house, so I am kept busy, but I still get some time to myself.
It does get a bit boring at times since I can’t see my friends, I definitely don’t miss school. I think this whole thing is a bit strange, but it is only going to get worse before it gets better.
