The CAO Change of Mind form is a form that allow you to change your mind about what CAO courses you have applied for
Even though change of mind is close at hand, applicants should be careful about making drastic changes to their course listings after their exams. CAO choices should be based on order of preference and not on how students think they may have performed during the exams. Making impulsive decisions at this point may result in disappointment when offers are received in August.
It is also important to check the college alert list on cao.ie, where applicants will find new courses introduced by colleges this year, which may not be listed in the CAO handbook. Applicants will also be able to check for changes in and cancellations of courses as this may influence their application
Restricted application courses cannot be added for the first time to a Change of Mind form. Also you cannot enter any mature applicant course codes for nursing. Students outside the EU, mature students and transfer applicants may not be able to use the Change of Mind form and should instead contact the admission of their course choice.
Once you enter choices in your Change of Mind form you will receive a revised Statement of Course Choice confirming that your new choices have been entered on your record. For online changes you should receive an email acknowledging the edits you made
.
There is no charge for making changes to the CAO during this period and applicants may make as many changes as they like. In order to make changes to their course listing, applicants should log into their account using the ‘my application’ button on to cao.ie. Here they will be asked for their CAO number, date of birth and password. Applicants can then enter their separate lists, either Level 8 or Level 7/6. They should then re-enter all the courses for which they wish to be considered in order of preference.
Remember that the Change of Mind form cancels out your previous application form.
