Transgender Equality Network (TENI) seeks to improve conditions and advance the rights and equality of trans people and their families.
They are currently running a campaign with Uniniversity of Limerick called Call it Out
The objective of this campaign is to address and tackle the harm caused by homophobia, transphobia and biphobia and is based on a survey called the ‘Call it Hate’ survey, It addresses the fact that despite recent positive legislative changes for the LGBT+ community in Ireland and a shift in societal attitudes, discrimination and hate crimes are still prominent toward the LGBT+ Community in a post referendum society.
It promotes three simple steps to help put an end to homophobia transphobia and biphobia:
Call it out, Support and Report
More information on these three elements can be found on www.callitout.ie (there is also a video on this page as part of campaign called ‘Have you ever felt?’
the findings and full report of the survey ca be found here: https://callitout.ie/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/CallitOut-Researchpdf
Everyone can play a small part in making life in Ireland better for LGBT+ people.
